An explosive light-heavyweight bout has been added to August’s UFC 101 event as TUF 1 winner and Former UFC light-heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin will meet Brazilian striker Thiago Silva. Both fighters are looking to rebound from high profile losses suffered recently.
Griffin is coming off of a failed title defense as he suffered a TKO loss to Rashad Evans in a light-heavyweight title fight at UFC 92 in December 2008. Griffin has been out of action due to a broken left hand suffered in the UFC 92 fight.
Thiago Silva is looking to rebound from a recent loss suffered at the hands of current top light-heavyweight contender Lyoto Machida at UFC 94 back in January. Silva had won 13 straight fights to open his career, which included four straight wins in the UFC.
