Explosive lightweights Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida have agreed to headline The Ultimate Fighter season nine finale on June 20. Sanchez wasn’t the first opponent that the UFC had in mind for Guida, Josh Neer had also been considered as an opponent, though it never came to fruition.
Sanchez last fought at UFC 95, where he made a successful lightweight debut in a unanimous decision win over Joe Stevenson.
Guida is currently riding a four fight winning streak. His last two wins have been over former “TUF” winners Mac Danzig at UFN 15 and Nate Diaz at the recent UFN 17 to emerge as a serious 155-pound contender.
The TUF 9 Finale is set to air on Spike TV and will also feature the welterweight and lightweight finale for the upcoming ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Anthony Johnson and John Howard have also verbally agreed to fight at the finale in June.
