Fedor Emelianenko recently said during an interview that he planned to meet with UFC President Dana White sometime in June, which would be after Fedor’s three-fight agreement with Affliction would presumably be fulfilled.
White has said all along that he’s been willing to deal with Fedor directly, but that it was Fedor’s management that has prevented any serious discussions about bringing the WAMMA heavyweight champion to the UFC.
According to White, he has never agreed to meet with Fedor in June but would be open to doing so, as long as he is meeting Fedor.
“If that’s true, that’s awesome. I’d have to hear that from him to believe it.” White said.
It’ll be interesting to see how the following months transpire for both the UFC’s heavyweight division and Fedor but there’s no doubt that both sides are interested in getting an agreement in place.
