Stephan Bonnar vs. Jon Jones
Round 1: Jones landed some hard kicks early. Mike Goldberg noted that Jones is the third youngest fighter in the UFC. Jones got a big throw on Bonnar. Jones nailed Bonnar witha spinning back fist and looked to almost finish the fight and was dropping a flurry of punches before Bonnar pulled guard. Jones nailed another big knee and got a takedown to finish the round. Dominant round for Jones, almost 10-8, but I’d score it 10-9.
Round 2: Jones started off dominant, taking down Bonnar several times. Jones has a ton of potential, he may be the next big thing in this division. Jones was looking tired at the end of this round, but right as I typed that, he scored a huge judo throw. 10-9 Jones.
Round 3: Jones is visibly tired at the start. Bonnar went for a throw, but Jones was able to reverse it and gain the advantage. Bonnar almost got a triangle, but Jones was able to wiggle out. Not much action and this fight is off to the judges’ scorecards. 10-9 Jones.
Winner via unanimous decision: Jon Jones (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
