Two Fights Given ‘Fight of the Night’ at UFC 93

The UFC issued two “Fight of the Night” awards as the pre-event pick for the award, Marcus Davis vs. Chris Lytle lived up to the hype with both fighters standing up and banging for the entire 15-minutes until Davis edged out a decision victory over Lytle.

Mark Coleman and Mauricio Rua also earned “Fight of the Night” honors in a surprisingly good showing by the UFC Hall-of-Famer, Mark Coleman. Rua was narrowly able to TKO Coleman with strikes as both fighters were severely gassed.

Alan Belcher took home the “Submission of the Night” honors with a guillotine choke over UFC newcomer Denis Kang. It was Kang who was brought in to liven up the UFC’s Middleweight division but Belcher spoiled the party.

“Knockout of the Night” went to Dennis Siver after he hit Nate Mohr with a spinning backfist that stunned him and followed up with a barrage of punches.

Each fighter took home $40,000 in bonuses.
