Win or Lose, Andrei Arlovski appears headed for a boxing ring very soon.
According to his trainer, Freddie Roach, the popular Belarus native has a potentially big PPV match up waiting for him; particularly if he can defeat Fedor Emelianenko later this month at Affliction: “Day of Reckoning”.
“If Andrei wins against Fedor on the 24th, I would put him right into a title fight with Nikolai Valuev right away,” said Roach. “It would be Belarus vs. Russia and that’s huge marketing for PPV and Andrei has a huge crowd in that area. He will cross over into boxing though; that is a definite! His next fight after Fedor will be a boxing match.”
The 7-foot, 323-pound, Valuev (52-1) is the current WBA heavyweight champion. The Russian giant is coming off of a controversial majority decision win over Evander Holyfield on Dec. 20.
