UFC President Dana White confirmed yesterday at the UFC 92 post fight press conference what had widely been rumored and in fact confirmed by both fighters – Diego Sanchez and Joe Stevenson will face one another at UFC 95 in London, England.
Heavy rumors had also been circulating that the fight would serve as a co-main event; but after the UFC announced that the event would be aired for free in the U.S. on Spike TV, it became less likely that the promotion would seek a more high profile fight for it’s main event, an assertion that White also confirmed yesterday when he also announced that Diego Sanchez’s light weight debut against Joe Stevenson will serve as the UFC 95 main event.
The event, set to be held at London’s O2 Arena on Feb. 21, will also be aired the same day in the U.S. via tape delay on Spike TV.
Below is the rumored fight card for UFC 95 as it currently stands:
Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson
Nate Marquardt vs. Wilson Gouveia
Rory Markham vs. Dan Hardy
Junior dos Santos vs. Stefan Struve
Justin Buchholz vs. Terry Etim
Shannon Gugerty vs.Jeff Lawson
Neil Grove vs. TBA
