Alistair Overeem has agreed to face former K-1 champion Badr Hari. Hari is K-1’s first ever heavyweight champion and holds a professional kickboxing record of 69-8. Overeem, who is 4-2 as a kickboxer and 40-11 as an MMA fighter, has agreed to face Hari in a K-1 rules fight under the condition that Hari meet him early next year for an MMA rules fight.
Hari (0-1 MMA) has agreed and Overeem announced the following via his official website:
The discussion was who would fight under whos rules first and Alistair stepped up first! Alistair will fight Badr Hari at K1 Dynamite 31 december under K1 rules! Since Badr Hari challenged Alistair he sees no other option than cause another demolition and knock Badr Hari out! Both fighters agreed to fight in MMA rules early 2009!
