UFC 94 Shaping Up – UFC Confirms Slew Of Fights

The UFC confirmed a number of fights recently for their upcoming Super Bowl weekend event, UFC 94: “St. Pierre vs. Penn 2. The event will be broadcast live from the the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Jan. 31.

In perhaps the biggest, most anticipated match up in the past few years, pound-for-pound kings B.J. Penn and Georges St. Pierre will meet for St. Pierre’s welterweight title. Penn, who currently holds the UFC’s lightweight title will be moving up to 170 pounds to take on St. Pierre for the second time.

The first fight was a very tightly contested battle which St.Pierre won via split decision. Penn disagreed adamantly with the decision as did many fans and pundits; however, it’s fair to say that the fight could have gone either way.
