Affliction "Day of Reckoning" Will Compete With UFC 91

Affliction “Day of Reckoning” was originally rescheduled for January 17th but Affliction Entertainment VP Tom Atencio never finalized that date in fear of a potential move by Dana White and company which would force the two promotions to compete with each other.

“Affliction: Banned” went head-to-head with Ultimate Fight Night: Silva vs. Irvin and now after Affliction’s move to January 24th, they’ll have to compete with SpikeTV’s airing of UFC 91: Lesnar vs. Couture.

UFC 91 was one of the highest grossing UFC events in history as it featured former pro wrestler Brock Lesnar defeating Randy Couture for the UFC Heavyweight title in the main event.

Spike’s free replay of UFC 91 should also feature never-before-seen backstage interviews and much more content to keep MMA fans away from Affliction’s event. We’ll have to wait and see as to how big of an effect this will have on “Day of Reckoning”.
