FiveOuncesofPain is reporting that the UFC and Brandon Vera are very close to signing a new contract extension that would keep Vera in the Octagon for the foreseeable future.
The last time the two parties came together to get an extension done, it wasn’t a pretty sight as Vera was out of action for over a year.
Money was the issue last time and with new management, Vera seems to be on the right track, at least outside of the cage.
Since re-signing, Vera has three out of his last four fights. His lone win came against Reese Andy at Light Heavyweight.
If the extension is signed, it is believed that Vera will compete at UFC 96 against Mike Patt.
