Former Pride Middleweight and Light Heavyweight champion, Dan Henderson, recently went on the record during an interview saying that the UFC Heavyweight title holds less value due to an inexperienced Brock Lesnar being its bearer.
“He’s 3-1 and he’s the UFC champion. It kind of diminishes the value of the belt a little bit.” Henderson told Chad Dukes of The Fukerton.
Lesnar defeated Randy Couture at UFC 91 to become the UFC Heavyweight champion. With a 2-1 record heading into his title shot, UFC matchmakers felt that Lesnar was ready to take a leap in competition and fight the UFC’s greatest champion. Lesnar went on to defeat Couture via TKO in the 2nd Round.
Henderson’s next challenge will come from former UFC Middleweight champion, Rich Franklin, as both attempt to jump back into the title picture following losses to current champ Anderson Silva.
