Many know Matt Lindland as one of the top Middleweight fighters in Mixed Martial Arts. What some may not know is that Lindland also has aspirations in the political forum as well.
It was recently announced that Lindland would have a documentary titled “Fighting Politics” filmed and submitted to the 25 largest film festivals for screenings. Although no dates and locations have been made official as of yet, an announcement is expected shortly.
His nickname is actually quite simple, you would think that he’d gotten it due to his demeanor inside a ring but “The Law” was actually born in a courtroom after Lindland had appealed a loss in the United States Olympic trials back in 2000. Lindland was in the finals against Keith Sieracki, whom Lindland accused of tripping him. The case was brought up to the courts and Lindland was subsequently granted a rematch, which he won 8-0.
At the age of 38, Lindland’s time in the ring may be winding down but his life may just be starting. After coming up short this month in his bid for a Senate seat for the state of Oregon, Lindland will most likely continue to try and find a home in politics.
