Due to traffic problems I missed the preliminary fights, but here are quick results:
Zakary Bucia defeated Adam Steele via submission (guillotine) at 0:35 in Round 1.
Alvin Cacdac defeated Jose Palacios via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:10 in Round 2.
Darren Uyenoyama defeated Brad Royster via unanimous decision (scores of 30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Nik Theotikos vs. Luke Rockhold
Round 1: Rockhold took Theotikos to the ground early and worked him over with punches. Rockhold dominated Theotikos on the ground and got his back and secured the rear-naked choke to get the tap.

Joe “Diesel” Riggs vs. Luke Stewart
Round 1: Stewart took Riggs to the ground early. When they got back up, Riggs nailed Stewart with a hard right. Stewart took Riggs back down to the ground and maintained his position. Stewart stayed on top as the round came to a close. 10-9 Stewart.
Round 2: Riggs turned things around early and took Stewart down. Riggs landed some hard shots from the top. Riggs continued to hammer away at Stewart as Stewart got back to his feet. Riggs knocked him back down and kept punching away before Big John McCarthy stopped it.
Winner via KO (strikes) at 2:05 in Round 2: Joe Riggs
Kim “Sugar Free” Couture – 132 lbs.
Round 1: Couture came out swinging and lasted some big shots early and whaled away on Kvokov. Total domination by Couture as she continues to hammer away at Kvokov and nail her with knees before clinching against the cage. Couture continued to hammer away before the referee called it off.

Duane “Bang” Ludwig vs. Yves Edwards
Round 1: Edwards took Ludwig to the ground early and got side control. Edwards landed a couple of shots from the top. Edwards continued to stay on top, however wasn’t inflicting much damage. Ludwig started to work his way back to his feet as the round came to a close. 10-9 Edwards.
Round 2: Edwards started the round with some high kicks that landed. Edwards took Ludwig down but Ludwig was quickly able to get back up and landed some shots before Edwards took him down again. Edwards continued to hold down but wasn’t doing much damage. The fight went back standing for a few moments before Edwards took Ludwig down again. Fans are getting impatient and booing at this point. They got back to their feet and clinched against the cage with about 30 seconds left. They traded a couple knees as the round came to a close. 10-9 for Edwards again.
Round 3: Ludwig and Edwards started the round standing and traded shots. Edwards tried for a takedown but Ludwig reversed it and got in Edwards’ guard. Ludwig landed a couple of punches but nothing too damaging before Edwards was able to get back to his feet.They did about as much on the feet as they were doing on the ground, which isn’t much. With less than a minute left, Ludwig finally started connecting with some head kicks before Edwards took Ludwig down again to finish the round. 10 – 9 Ludwig.

Bobby Southworth vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral
Round 1: Southworth and Babalu clinched against the cage early before Southworth took Babalu to the ground. Babalu tried to get a triangle, but Southworth was able to dodge it and maintain his position. Back at their feet, both men clinched against the cage eithe neither man doing much damage. Southworth complained about a finger to the eye, which drew some boos from the crowd, but referee John McCarthy didn’t stop the action. Finally with about a minute left, McCarthy separated the two competitors. Before you knew it, they were clinched again against the cage. Babalu hit a big elbow to that cut Southworth and McCarthy paused the action to take a look at the cut and it was fine. As soon as the fight was restarted, Southworth decked Babalu and knocked him down and started dropping bombs before the horn went off to end the round. 10-9 Southworth.
Well, scratch that. The doctor determined that the cut was too bad and Southworth couldn’t continue.
Winner via TKO (doctor stoppage) at the end of Round 1 and new Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion: Renato “Babalu” Sobral
Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith vs.
Round 1: Just 0:24 into the round, Smith nailed Martin with a huge left that knocked Martin right out. Crowd went beserk.
Winner via KO at 0:24 in Round 1: Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith
