Dana White Trashing EliteXC Until the Very End

UFC president Dana White released his latest video blog, dated October 21st. He is doing it from his Illinois hotel room, as his plane had just touched down from London, England. As he is preparing himself for the hectic week of UFC 90 promotional activities that lie ahead, he took some time to throw a little more salt onto EliteXC’s wounds. White stated that having ProElite go out of business marks, “a great day for MMA.”

“Obviously today is a great day in MMA,” When White referred to EliteXC’s demise. “ProElite is dead. I’m sure some of you saw the interview I did about how bad these guys are for the sport, so today is a good day.”

The day wasn’t so great for EliteXC, their fighters, employees and executives, but one can see how their bankruptcy filing strengthens the UFC’s monopoly. The candid White didn’t stop short of trashing the organization, he threw daggers directly at the men responsible.

“Jeremy Lappen, the three time loser,” White said of EliteXC’s former Head of Fight Operations. “This guy was with a company called Battle Management. Then the other one there that we ended up getting… the WFA. And now, ProElite. Jeremy, you have a law degree. Go get a real (expletive) job. Okay? Go get a real job. Your parents must be really bummed out. Spent all that money on a law degree and you’re (expletive) around in MMA trying to screw up this business. Go screw up someone’s (expletive) court case, or go do something else.”

White didn’t stop there, of course he needed to attack EliteXC vice president Jared Shaw, whom White has had public spats with in the past.

“And then the little rapper kid,” White began. “You’ve got a rich daddy. You can just live at home with your mom and dad and live in the basement. (Laughs) You don’t even have to get a job. You can hang out at nightclubs and DJ and go back to the basement and go to sleep, you little (expletive).

White also found the time in his busy schedule to take some stabs at former EliteXC Live Events President Gary Shaw, who was the original EliteXC ringmaster before he was forced to resign from his post in July.

“Gary Shaw? He’s going to be around for a long time in boxing, so as long as he stays in boxing, all us MMA people can be happy. It’s a good day. It’s a good day that these guys are gone. Obviously, I saw a lot of the comments and a lot of the people agreed with me about how bad these guys are for the sport. So thank God they’re gone.”
