UFC 93 close to Ireland, not Las Vegas

The UFC is set to announce that UFC 93 will be taking place in Dublin, Ireland instead of Las Vegas on January 17th at the O2 Arena. A rumored main event could see Rich “Ace” Franklin” against either Mauricio “Shogun” Rua or Chuck Liddell.

Dana White and company have been pursuing global expansion ever since they set foot in the U.K. and now with plans to head over to the Philippines and now Ireland, it seems as though the UFC is willing to make changes to their schedule to accommodate the expansion.

It is unclear as to whether or not the Lyoto Machida vs. Thiago Silva bout will remain on UFC 93 or follow the UFC overseas.

If true, UFC 94 will feature the re-match between BJ Penn and Georges St-Pierre for the UFC welterweight title on SuperBowl weekend.

Update: It is now being reported that Dan Henderson could face Franklin in the main event.
