Dream.6 draws low ratings in Japan

Sherdog is reporting that Japanese television research firm, Video Research Ltd., has released the results for Dream’s tape-delayed primetime broadcast of Dream.6 and they aren’t good. The show brought in a 9.0 rating and a peak of 13.4, which took place when Yoshihiro Akiyama took on Masanori Tonooka.

K-1 replaced its former MMA brand in Hero’s in favor of Dream to help bring back the former Pride fans and the success that they had but all four Hero’s events scored higher ratings than Dream has.

“I want to brace for New Year’s Eve. I want to carry out an event so that we can strike numbers two and three times as high as this.” Dream event producer Keiichi Sasahara told reporters.

K-1 “Premium Dynamite!!” perennially brings in high ratings, so it’s no surprise that Sasahara wants to move on and put on a good show for their biggest event.
