Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu wizard Demian Maia confirmed to Brazilian website Tatame that he will be facing Nate Quarry in a middleweight showdown at UFC 91 in November. Maia is just coming back from being a Jiu-Jitsu coach on Frank Mir’s team during the taping of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series.
Maia currently owns a record of 8-0-0, including three straight victories inside the Octagon. His most recent win was against a very tough Jason MacDonald at UFC 87.
“I didn’t study his fights yet… I only watch my opponents’ fights when the fight gets closer.” Maia told Tatame when asked about how much he knows about Quarry.
