Jason Day has been forced to withdraw from UFC 88 due to injury. Day apparently suffered an elbow and bicep injury that and is awaiting an MRI to determine the severity. Regardess, he will be unable to compete at UFC 88 against newly minted middleweight Jason Lambert. Instead Lambert will make his middleweight debut against veteran Jason MacDonald.
MacDonald takes the fight on short notice and with little rest after dropping a three round battle against highly regarded Demian Maia at UFC 87 a couple of weeks ago.
