The Lights Out Show Welcomes Monte Cox

Famed fighter representative and CEO of Adrenaline MMA, Monte Cox, took some time out of his ultra busy schedule to sit down with the boys from The Lights Out Show today. Below is Cox’s take on a just a few of the things they touched upon in this very informative interview.

Cox On DREAM’s viability as a promotion in Japan:

“They’re just not getting the ratings. It seems the Asian market is down a bit with its interest.”

Cox On Whether Or Not The UFC Will Eventually Co=Promote:

“I think they will. The UFC is very territorial. I’d probably be the same way, but as the other organizations build up, eventually it’ll make sense to do a co-promotion. The UFC can’t have everything.”

On his fighter, Rich Franklin, moving up to light heavyweight:

“Well, Rich came into the UFC as a light heavyweight. He’s undefeated as a light heavyweight. Those two losses to Anderson Silva, I mean, we’re not stupid, we give. So Rich is going to keep fighting, but we’ve gone pretty much through everybody at middleweight, so we’re going to see what we can do at light heavyweight. I mean, there are some pretty good fights for Rich there. [Aside from Matt Hamill] there’s Rashad (Evans) and other fighters there.”

Monte also shares his his personal story on how he got started in MMA, offers his opinions on Affliction, talks about the difficulties of managing fighters and putting together fight shows, and much, much more. A very candid interview with one of the most influential men in MMA.
