Affliction has just announced via their website that Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett will be squaring off in the main event of Affliction’s sophomore effort on October 4th.
Barnett replaces WAMMA Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko after he was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a hand injury.
The show, which is titled “Day Of Reckoning”, will be taking place in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Arlovksi and Barnett, both former UFC Heavyweight Champions, fought in Affliction’s rookie show on July 19th and were victorious. Barnett avenged his 2001 loss to Pedro Rizzo with a vicious knockout in round two, while Arlovski battled Ben Rothwell and scored a third round TKO.
No other bouts have been confirmed as of yet for the October show, but Tim Sylvia, Aleksander Emelianenko, Pedro Rizzo, and others have all stated they plan to be fighting on the card.
