Former UFC and WEC veteran welterweight John Alessio has signed a three-fight contract with EliteXC.
The 170lb. Alessio has competed against some of MMA’s best including Diego Sanchez and Thiago Alves. His record in the UFC was a disappointing 0-3. Alessio later found a home in the WEC, gaining notable wins over Todd Moore, Brian Gasaway, and Alex Serdyukov. He most recently defeated Pete Spratt via submission at an event in Las Vegas dubbed “Night of Combat”.
Alessio will be joining the fray in EliteXC’s welterweight division which currently houses Nick Diaz, Drew Fickett, and champion Jake Shields to name a few. Expect to see Alessio on an EliteXC card by the end of the year if not sooner.
