Although Razak Al-Hussan was initially rumored to be Andre Gusmao’s opponent for his bout at UFC 87, it has recently been confirmed that Northeast fighter Jon Jones has gotten the call to fight Gusmao on the prelimary card of the event.
Jones is 6-0 in MMA, and is the current USKBA light-heavyweight champion. He most recently fought in a World Championship Fighting event in Wilmington, Mass. on June 20th, where he demolished Parker Porter in 36 seconds. Five of his six victoires have come via T/KO. Expect big things from this young LHW.
Andre Gusmao is one of many IFL fighters to find a new home with Zuffa. He brings a 5-0 record into his UFC debut. He and Jones both like to strike, so expect to be entertained by these two gladiators come fight time.
UFC 87 takes place on Saturday August 9th and will air live on pay-per-view from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
