The Chicago Sun Times has reported that Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva will take on Patrick “The Predator” Cote in the main event at UFC 90 in Chicago’s AllState Arena on October 25th.
The Sun Times cited Dana White as their source.
The challenger Cote was last seen at UFC 86 where he defeated jiu-jitsu juggernaut Ricardo Almeida via split decision. The Canadian-born Cote is 13-4 in his career and is on a five fight-winning streak. In Silva, he’ll be facing the toughest test of his career.
Anderson Silva was last seen demolishing James Irvin at “Ultimate Fight Night 14″ in just over a minute. Many feel he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
Also announced for the card in Chicago is a 170lb. battle between title contenders Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez and Thiago “Pit Bull” Alves.
