Matt Hamill Will Fight At UFC 88

Matt Hamill has informed that he has been offered a fight at UFC 88. Matt is extremely excited about this opportunity and tells us he’s “ready to go.” An opponent has not been named as of yet, however, Matt says he will announce it on as soon as the information becomes available.

Hamill (6-1) is coming off of a thrilling second round knockout victory over veteran Tim Boetsch at the UFC’s Ultimate Fight Night 13 back in early April. Since that time, Hamill has also gotten engaged to girlfriend Brittany Houck and has seen a screenplay written about his inspiring life story get funding to become a major Hollywood film. Hamill has stated that he is very excited about these events but has been training as hard as ever to improve his all-around MMA skills. A statement corroborated by trainer Duff Holmes.

“He’s improved his striking tremendously over the past year,” said Holmes. “We’ve worked exclusively with renown boxing coach Tim Greene and Muy Thai expert Master Seng.”

Hamill has also worked hard on his Brazilian jui-jitsu, studying with Renzo Gracie product Bruno Tostes who has been amazed by the rate at which Hamill has been able to absorb the renown grappling art.

“He’s like a sponge,” said Tostes. “You show him something one time and he remembers it, but not only that, he has the ability to use it. He’s becoming very good on the ground.”

Duff Holmes is very excited about their upcoming fight at UFC 88 and told us that they will release the name of Hamill’s next opponent as soon as it becomes available.

Matt is, by far, the most amazing athlete I’ve ever worked with. Everyday that I train with I see him becoming a better fighter.
