M-1 Global sent out a press release earlier today announcing that they have officially parted with Fedor Emelianenko. In that press release the organization also stated that they would be releasing another major statement within the next 24 hours.
According to multiple reports and a source close to the negotiations, that statement will likely contain the following two pieces of information:
– Tim Sylvia’s contract with the UFC has been terminated.
– Tim Sylvia will now sign with M-1 Global.
It should be noted that Sylvia’s manager Monte Cox also serves as president and CEO of M-1 Global.
Tim Sylvia, for his part, stated yesterday that he had a big announcement to make regarding his future and that he would release the information today at noon on his personal website. He posted the following today:
I’m sorry to disappoint everybody but some of the big news is going on this weekend. I’m going hunting with Gary LaVox from Rascal Flats. Driving down to Tennessee tomorrow to start turkey hunting. My hunting DVD comes out in four weeks, but this will be on next year’s hunting DVD. Now if you guys were expecting anything else, then you might want to watch HD Net Friday night, Inside MMA. Stay tuned for more. -Tim
