Anderson Silva appears serious about stepping inside of the ring to face Roy Jones Jr according to his manager Ed Soares via MMAWeekly.
“Anderson really would love to fight Roy Jones, Jr. in a boxing match. It’s not just talk, we really would like to put that fight together.”
According to Soares, Silva respects Jones’ ability very much, but he feels that MMA fighters are given a bad rap by the boxing community when it comes to their technical striking skills.
“We respect Jones’ boxing ability and think he’s one of the best,” said Soares, “but we’re tired of different boxers saying that MMA fighters aren’t technical. Anderson would love to fight Roy Jones in a boxing match under boxing rules to prove that MMA fighters are technical, too.”
There is no word out of Jones’ camp on a possible agreement to meet Silva but a fight of this magnitude, however unlikely, would be an enormous draw.
