Wanderlei Silva has returned to training at Randy Couture’s XtremeCouture gym in Las Vegas, Nevada. The former PRIDE champion and current UFC contender says of his last fight with Chuck Liddell that, “he couldn’t bounce of the cage and counter Chuck the way he could coming off the ropes in the PRIDE ring.”
To fix this problem and others, “the Axe Murderer” is training in wrestling directly under the tutelage of the best in the business, Randy Couture himself.
Wanderlei’s next fight is in May and while no official opponent has been comfirmed, it has been said by the Xtreme Couture camp that it is already someone Chuck Liddell himself has already fought. This mostly likely means that Wanderlei will fight Keith Jardine who defeated Chuck via split decision back in September at UFC 76. If Silva’s next opponent is indeed Jardine, it will be interesting to see how the two top MMA camps, Xtreme Couture and Greg Jackson’s Submission Fighting prepare their star fighters for this light heavyweight show down.
