In what’s starting to look like a pattern, the UFC has missed out on yet another high caliber talent. As MMAFightline.com reported early last week, the UFC has been negotiating to bring Takanori Gomi stateside to compete in the lightweight division. Gomi is widely considered to be one of the top five lightweights in the world and would make an exciting addition to the promotion.
Now it looks as if Gomi won’t be headed to the states any time soon. According to fiveouncesofpain.com Gomi had agreed to face Frank Edgar in what would have been a spectacular match up. However the fight is now off due to the UFC’s inability to come to terms with Gomi. We’ll have more on this story as details surface.
