The Sun Times is reporting that Andrei Arlovski, who has been in limbo for almost nine months since a decision victory against Fabricio Werdum, will be expected to participate at UFC 82 in Columbus, Ohio. No word on a potential opponent.
Sources close to Arlovski have stated that he has not signed any paperwork to fight at this time though he must fight within the next three months per his contract and UFC 82 appears likely.
Arlovski is on the last fight of his current UFC contract and speculation was rampent that the UFC was “freezing” the popular former champion out in order to secure a deal before allowing the Arlovski to fight.
That rumor has lost steam of late as Loretta Hsunt broke the news that the UFC had offered Arlovski at least two fights over the span of the last nine months and that both potential opponents had to drop out due to injury.
