Roger Huerta and Clay Guida are two of the most high energy, actioned packed fighters on the planet. It was only a matter of time before the UFC put these two highly combustible opponents together, which is exactly what happened Saturday night in Las Vegas at The Ultimate Fighter 6 Live Finale. And the two men did not disappoint, putting on what many ringside observers described as one of the best fights this year.
The two went back and forth in relentless fashion with Guida seeming to get the better of Huerta for the first two rounds. In fact, it was revealed today that all three ringside judges had Guida taking both of the first two rounds, with one of the judges scoring a 20-17 advantage for Guida.
Huerta came back strong in the third, however, landing a huge knee that rocked Guida and seemed to mark the beginning of the end as Huerta was able to secure a rear-naked choke on his now pacified assailant.
Huerta had this to say afterwards regarding Guida’s relentless attacking style:
“I was hurt. He rocked me, man. I was slightly knocked out but I knew what was going on. I just heard this ringing, and it was the weirdest thing, all I saw was all this hair, I didn’t know if it was a human being or a lion attacking me, then after about 10 seconds I was like ‘Hey Clay’ and it was back on.”
