The UFC has been told that a Frank Mir – Tim Sylvia rematch would not be sanctioned by Keith Kizer of the Nevada commission. Apparently they feel that it would be too one sided of a fight against Mir, despite the fact that Mir had won the first fight between the two quickly via submission.
While the news has just gotten out, UFC had apparently been told this awhile back, before they signed the Frank Mir – Brock Lesnar fight.
If Mir has a good showing against Brock Lesnar in February, the commission might change their mind on a Mir – Sylvia rematch.
Meanwhile Dana White has been telling people that they have huge plans for Quinton Jackson’s next fight, although he is not revealing exactly what those plans are yet. Jackson will be available to fight in February. To read a recent article in which Quinton addresses Dana White’s plans for him, click here.
