BJ Penn will face Joe Stevenson for the “interim” lightweight title at UFC 80. In the mean time Penn has had much to say about UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk, who tested positive for steroids this past July after his victory at UFC 73 against Hermes Franca.
“Looking at him, he doesn’t look like he’s ever done steroids in his life,” said an obviously sarcastic Penn.
Penn also responded to statements made by Sherk in which he referred to the “interim” lightweight title as a “fake” title.
“Sean Sherk can say it’s a fake interim title, but his belt is no more real that Marion Jones’ gold medals,” Penn said at the UFC 78 weigh-ins.
Penn also got on Penn for not being able to finish fights.
“He made us sit through that whole thing with Hermes Franca,” said Penn.
