Dana White Set To Offer Randy Couture A Fight In Early 2008

The UFC held a press conference today to specifically address the ongoing “situation” with Randy Couture. During the press conference Dana White was asked if he thinks that this situation can be resolved amicably and Randy could return to the UFC.

White responded, “If I can work things out with Tito Ortiz, I’m sure Randy and I can solve this issue.”

He went on to say that he still considers Couture the UFC heavyweight champion and intends to offer him a title fight in early 2008, mentioning Antonio “Minotauro” Nogueira as a possible opponent.

Dana went on to say that if Couture turns the fight down that the UFC will officially consider him retired and look to match up the number one and number two contenders for the vacant heavyweight title.

Check back later this evening for a detailed recap of the press conference.
