First-Ever Bellator Female Featherweight Championship Match Announced

Marloes Coenen and Julia Budd will make history when they square off at Bellator 155 next month.

Officials confirmed in a report with that the two will collide to crown the first-ever Bellator female featherweight champion at the May 20 event from Boise, Idaho. The bout will air live online before the Spike TV televised card takes place.

Coenen (23-6) is a former Strikeforce champion who faced off with Cris “Cyborg” Justino for Invicta FC gold before signing with Bellator. She has won both of her appearances inside the Bellator cage.

Budd (8-2) also has a matching 2-0 record with the promotion. She is on a six-fight win streak dating back to a 2011 loss to Ronda Rousey.
