Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic is a Croatian law enforcement officer turned kickboxer turned mixed martial artist.

The name “Cro Cop” comes from his membership in the Croatian police’s Anti-Terrorist Group. He has been successful in both K-1 and PRIDE, winning the PRIDE 2006 Open Weight Grand Prix on September 10, 2006.

Cro Cop signed with the UFC in 2007. During his initial stint, Cro Cop acquired a less than stellar 1-2 record before signing with DREAM in Japan in 2008. He returned to the UFC in 2009, and has earned a 3-1 record since his return, his most recent being a submission victory over Pat Barry at UFC 115 in June of 2010, his first submission victory in nearly four years.
