Josh Barnett is a former UFC heavyweight champion and one of the best heavyweight fighters in the world. He won the UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 36 from Randy Couture, however he was stripped of the title after failing a drug test and has been fighting all over the world since, in organizations such as PRIDE and FEG. Barnett was scheduled to face Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction's third event - Affliction: Trilogy - on August 1, 2009, however was pulled from the fight ten days before the event by the California State Athletic Commission after Barnett tested positive for anabolic steroids. The event itself was canceled on July 24, 2009 as a result.
