Edson Barboza, who is one of the few fighters to win two fights via leg kicks, is ready for more than a Top 10 name. The lightweight wants to challenge for the title and based off his comments, he’s ready.
“I finished my last fight and hope the UFC gives me a Top 10 name because I’m ready,” said Barboza on MMA Interviews. “I’m ready for the title shot. My coach says I train hard and I’m ready.”
The lightweight division is stacked with names and Barboza watches every one of their fights.
Barboza is 6-1 for the UFC and joined them in 2010. Since he was defeated by Jamie Varner, Barboza has regrouped with a pair of stoppages.
There’s no return date or opponent for Barboza.
