Douglas Lima will have the chance to jump right back to the top of the Bellator welterweight list of contenders, as he replaces Josh Koscheck against Paul Daley at Bellator 158.
Set for July 16 from London, the event features a headline fight between Kimbo Slice and James Thompson.
Lima (26-6) last fought in 2015, dropping the title to Andrey Koreshkov. He is 8-2 with Bellator, with his only other loss coming to then-champion Ben Askren.
Daley (38-13-2) and Koscheck (17-10) delays the promotional debut of Koscheck yet again. The two fought before, meeting inside the UFC Octagon. That bout was the last for Daley there, as he landed a punch well after the final bell of the third round vs. “Kos,” prompting his immediate release.
ESPN first reported the change, which also leaves Chidi Njokuani without an opponent for Bellator 157 this month.
