Doo Ho Choi might be the fighter on the UFC roster that least looks like a fighter.
But don’t tell the South Korean that.
Choi earned his 13th straight win, including eight in a row by finish, when he knocked out Thiago Tavares Friday night at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale. Choi (15-1) is now a perfect 3-0 with the UFC, including all three victories coming inside of the first round.
“People don’t think of Koreans as being humble, but once the fight starts, I am all confidence,” he said. “My coach came up with a great strategy and it went very well.”
Choi signed with the promotion in 2014 and promptly knocked out Juan Puig in just 18 seconds. He added a win over Sam Sicilia before making Tavares the latest victim.
The youngster also took the opportunity to call-out his next fight, asking for the winner of Cub Swanson vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri.
