Benson Henderson opted to remove himself from a planned meeting with Jorge Masvidal next month, accepting a fight with Brandon Thatch in a couple of weeks.
That left Masvidal without an opponent.
Insert Donald Cerrone, who always seems to be at the tip of fight announcements.
On Twitter recently, the two had an exchange where they agreed to meet up in April. Cerrone, coming off a win over Henderson, had previously stated plans to rest and wait for a likely No. 1 contender match with Khabib Nurmagomedov this summer.

Masvidal (28-8) has won five of six UFC bouts, while Cerrone (27-6) sports a 14-3 record since coming over from the WEC – including five wins in the last 12 months.
