Donald Cerrone: “I’m An Entertainer”

Donald Cerrone

Donald Cerrone did not have the kind of showing he is known for against Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC lightweight title.

But “Cowboy” is ready to get back on the saddle – or, step inside the Octagon – and compete again. He’ll return next month against Tim Means in the welterweight division at UFC Fight Night 82 from Pittsburgh.

For Cerrone, who had his long win streak snapped with a first round TKO loss to dos Anjos, the idea of fighting quickly again was exactly what the doctor ordered.

“That was a mauling. It’s time to get back in there and get over it. I can’t be upset,” he said, during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight. “I’m an entertainer. It’s time to get my shot.”

The decision to move up to 170 pounds was one accepted because that’s what the UFC asked, according to Cerrone.

“They called and I said yes,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what weight. He’s a great guy. He’s a hell of a fighter. He’s got a grindy, street fighter attitude.”

Means is coming off a finish vs. John Howard that improved his record to 5-1 over his last six.
