Donald Cerrone Only Focused On Current Fight, Not Conor McGregor

Donald Cerrone has heard all the talk of a potential fight with Conor McGregor should he leave UFC on FOX 17 with the lightweight title.

But “Cowboy” isn’t letting that take away from his focus on the task at hand in Rafael dos Anjos.

The two meet Saturday night for the belt, but Cerrone stopped by “UFC Tonight” recently to discuss all things McGregor and dos Anjos.

“I’m 100-percent focused on this fight,” Cerrone said. “Congrats to Conor. Hats off to the guy. If I win, yes, I’d be glad to welcome him. But I’m focused 100-percent on this fight and winning this title.”

This marks a second meeting between Cerrone and dos Anjos, as the current champion scored a win. How will the challenger change the result? He has an idea.

“I’ve been working on my wrestling. Keeping it on my feet, that’d be good,” he said. “It’s a new ‘Cowboy.’ I’m back to drinking beer and having fun and living life. Me not focusing on the fight is my way to focus on the fight.

“I’m a slow starter. I do well in five round fights. My cardo does great. He hit me so hard in that first round in the first fight, I don’t remember much. I had to get my bearings back.”
