Diego Sanchez still believes his recent fight with Gilbert Melendez could have went down as a draw.
However, the former Ultimate Fighter winner is moving on and hopes his second encounter with “El Nino” is for the UFC lightweight title.
Melendez claimed a decision over Sanchez, and appears to have jumped to the front of the pack to compete for the belt soon. Currently, Anthony Pettis wears UFC gold and is set to defend vs. Josh Thomson later this year.
“It was fun going to war, you have Pettis and Josh’s number get the belt,” Sanchez sent to Melendez via Twitter recently. “I’ll be climbing the rankings (World War 2) will happen (five rounds).”
