“It’s almost impossible for that card to not live up to its potential.”
Those right there could be the kiss of death for the upcoming UFC 205 event.
UFC president Dana White made those remarks during an interview following UFC 204 this past weekend, putting plenty of pressure on the Madison Square Garden debut for the Octagon next month.
The event is headlined by Eddie Alvarez defending his lightweight title against featherweight champion Conor McGregor, along with Tyron Woodley defending his welterweight belt vs. Stephen Thompson. The UFC strawweight title is also on the line, along with New York’s own Chris Weidman taking on Yoel Romero.
“I’m very excited,” White added. “I think it’s the best card we’ve ever done.”
