In an interview with the Boston Herald, UFC president Dana White claims that the “one-night” stand in a drug rehab facility for Jon Jones is incorrect.
Jones, the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, admitted himself into a center following news that he failed a drug test for cocaine. His mother, Camille Jones, told a local affiliate that her son spent one night and planned to attend this coming Sunday’s AFC championship game featuring his two brothers.
“When the whole story comes out, people will understand,” White said. “It will be put into perspective. When Jon Jones comes out and does his interview, the truth will come out and everyone will understand.
“Or they won’t. Jon is a very polarizing guy. People either love him or they hate him. Either way, the truth will come out soon.”
Jones defeated Daniel Cormier earlier this month to successfully defend his title.
