UFC president Dana White stormed out of Wednesday night’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter 19, only to come back and go off on the Nevada Athletic Commission judges while they were Octagon-side.
The episode featured a match between Roger Zapata and Ian Stephens in which Zapata was constantly warned about the “angle” of the elbows he was delivering. After going to the sudden-victory third round, referee Steve Mazzagatti deducted a point from Zapata for his use of “illegal” elbows.
White proceeded to leave his spot watching the fight. He was in the midst of changing clothes when he heard the decision, which was awarded to Zapata. Seemingly in disbelief, White asked how that was possible.
It was later revealed that two of the three judges scored the final round 9-9 with the point deduction, while one had it 10-8 for Stephens. With the majority being a draw, the three were asked to circle who they thought won, and Zapata had his hand raised.
In the videos below, you can see the controversial moment, White’s post-fight reaction and the UFC boss in an interview with FOX Sports Live that aired after the show.
