For UFC president Dana White, it was déjà vu at UFC Fight Night 30. White was critical of the referee for not stopping Jessica Andrade’s absolute destruction of Rosi Sexton for three full rounds.
“It should have been stopped,” said White. “I said what we should do is bring the ref out in the hallway and let someone punch him in the face for 15 minutes and nobody jump in to help him, just to see what it feels like.”
The last few weeks have seen White critical of late stoppages, with a big one being Cain Velasquez-Junior dos Santos III. In the final round the referee called it, but Santos later said he doesn’t remember entering the championship rounds.
Andrade is now 1-1 for the UFC after dropping her debut to Liz Carmouche. Sexton is 0-2 with both going to the judges.
