Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino will keep racking up wins and wait for the UFC to offer a contract. The current Invicta FC featherweight champion chose not to sign with the UFC as she wasn’t looking to drop to bantamweight, the only women’s division the promotion currently has.
“If I keep knocking people out, nothing will hide what I’m doing,” said Justino to MMA Fighting. “[Dana White] won’t stop me. Every MMA fan wants to watch to see me in the UFC. I’m happy at Invicta FC, and I want to represent Invicta FC in the UFC. The more I grow, they won’t be able to protect Ronda [Rousey] from me anymore.”
The jab at Rousey is not a surprise as they have issues dating back to Strikeforce. Rousey was frequently mocking Justino for testing positive to steroids and “Cyborg” has been critical of Rousey not meeting her in a catchweight bout.
Justino is currently a client of Tito Ortiz, who is not on friendly terms with the UFC. She’s also still under contract to Invicta FC.
