Cris Cyborg’s debut as a bantamweight will come this December at Invicta FC 10. The next two all-female cards were announced early Monday morning.
Invicta FC 9 will take place November 1 in Davenport, Iowa and feature Barb Honchak defending her flyweight title against Takayo Hashi. Honchak is a native of Illinois and trains out of the Pat Miletich camp. She is 9-2 in her career and won the title last year with a decision win over Vanessa Porto.
Honchak successfully defende the belt this past December when she topped Leslie Smith. Hashi (15-4-1) earned a stoppage win in May and also holds a victory over Ultimate Fighter alum Roxanne Modafferi.
Cyborg (12-1) is a former Strikeforce champion and currently holds the Invicta FC featherweight title. However, her ultimate goal is to compete in the UFC and face Ronda Rousey – two things she can only do as a bantamweight. No opponent was announced for Cyborg.
Both Invicta cards will stream online via UFC Fight Pass. The announcement of Invicta FC 9 and 10 were made on “UFC Minute.”
